Daniele Chiffi, born on December 14, 1984 in Padua, Italy, is an Italian football referee who has had a remarkable career in national and international refereeing.
He started his refereeing career in the lower categories of Italian football and, after demonstrating his competence and professionalism, he was promoted to officiate matches in the Serie B in the 2013-2014 season. His debut in the Serie A took place on May 11, 2014, in a match between Sampdoria and Napoli.
In recognition of his performance, Chiffi was included in the international referees list of FIFA starting on January 1, 2022, allowing him to officiate in European competitions. His international debut as a main referee occurred in November 2022, during the group stage of the UEFA Europa Conference League, in the match between Silkeborg IF and RSC Anderlecht.
In addition to his work on the field, Chiffi is a management engineer by profession, combining his academic background with his passion for refereeing. In the 2022-2023 season, he was recognized as the highest-paid Italian referee, with earnings amounting to 86,800 euros, reflecting his participation in multiple high-level matches.
Throughout his career, he has been distinguished with awards such as the “Giovanni Mauro” in the spring of 2023, awarded to the international referee of the National Arbitration Commission who stood out the most during the season. Likewise, in the 2021-2022 season, he received the “Stefano Farina Award”, which recognizes referees and arbitration officials who have contributed to the growth of the sports movement.
