Luis Orlando Lobo Medina, born on October 14, 1984 in Banda del Río Salí, province of Tucumán, Argentina, is a football referee who has climbed positions up to officiating in the top category of Argentine football. His interest in refereeing arose at 16 years old, during the organization of a school championship to raise funds for his graduation trip. In that event, he was fascinated by the referee's work and decided to venture into this profession.
After completing his training at Instituto Santo Cristo, Lobo Medina began his career in the lower divisions of the Liga Tucumana de Fútbol. His dedication and performance led him to officiate in federal tournaments and, subsequently, in the Primera B Nacional, where he debuted in 2011. Over more than a decade in this category, he accumulated experience and recognition.
On May 8, 2022, Lobo Medina made his debut in the Primera División of Argentine football, officiating the match between Colón de Santa Fe and Vélez Sarsfield in the last round of the group stage of the Copa de la Liga Profesional 2022. This milestone made him the third referee from Tucumán to reach the top category, following the steps of Pedro Argañaraz and Carlos Salado.
In 2025, his career reached a new level when he was appointed as an international referee by FIFA, representing Argentina in international competitions. This achievement positions him as the first referee from northern Argentina to receive such distinction.
