About Marc Bollengier

Marc Bollengier, born on December 16, 1991, is a French football referee who has notably climbed up the national refereeing ranks. He began his career at 15 and, after years of dedication, was promoted to the Ligue 1 in the 2022/2023 season. His debut in the top division took place on September 18, 2022 in a match between Stade de Reims and AS Monaco.

Throughout the 2024/2025 season, Bollengier has officiated several high-profile matches in the Ligue 1, including games like PSG vs. Montpellier on August 23, 2024, and Monaco vs. Montpellier on September 28, 2024.

One of his most talked-about decisions came in his Ligue 1 debut when he sent off Reims' player, Bradley Locko, after 20 minutes for a challenge deemed dangerous. This action drew criticism from Reims' coach, Oscar García, who stated that the referee had "killed the game".

Despite the controversies, Bollengier has held his position in the French refereeing elite, officiating in high-profile matches and demonstrating a rigorous enforcement of the rules. His career reflects a constant commitment to the development and professionalization of refereeing in France.
