Sebastián Nicolás Martínez, born on January 10, 1990 in Bahía Blanca, Argentina, is a football referee who has climbed positions in national refereeing. He made his debut in the Argentine First Division in October 2022, officiating the match between Unión and Central Córdoba. Since then, he has been appointed for several matches in the top category of Argentine football.
In December 2024, Martínez was included in the list of international referees from Argentina for 2025, alongside Luis Lobo Medina and Carlos Andrés Gariano, replacing Fernando Espinoza, Andrés Merlos, and Pablo Echavarría. This appointment will allow him to officiate matches in international competitions, expanding his experience and professional projection.
He is the nephew of the former referee and current National Director of Arbitration of the AFA, Federico Beligoy, highlighting a family tradition in refereeing.
