About Alejandro Quintero González

Alejandro Quintero González, born on May 3, 1993 in Huelva, Spain, is a Spanish football referee who has experienced a notable rise in his refereeing career. He started his journey in the lower categories of Spanish football and, after a season in Segunda División B (2020-2021), where he officiated 9 matches, he was promoted to Segunda División in the 2021-2022 season. Over three seasons in this category, he refereed a total of 50 games, demonstrating his ability and consistency in refereeing. 

His performance earned him a promotion to La Liga for the 2024-2025 season, making his debut on August 16, 2024 in the match between Celta de Vigo and Deportivo Alavés. This milestone made him the first referee from Huelva to reach the highest category of Spanish football in 32 years, since Abilio Caetano Bueno did it in 1992. 

Throughout his career in La Liga, as of April 2025, Quintero González has officiated 16 matches, showing a total of 61 yellow cards and 5 red cards, maintaining an average of approximately 3.8 yellow cards per game.
