Alessandro Nesta (Rome, 1976) is one of the most iconic defenders in Italian football and a key figure both on and off the field. Raised in the youth academy of S.S. Lazio, he was a protagonist of a golden era for the Roman club, winning the Serie A and the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, before making the move to A.C. Milan in 2002. At San Siro, Nesta became a legend, winning two Champions League titles, two Serie A titles, and a Club World Cup, always standing out for his elegance and tactical ability. After retiring in 2014, he started his coaching career at Miami FC, and later returned to Italy to lead Serie B teams like Perugia and Frosinone, reaching the promotion playoff final with the latter. In 2024, he was appointed as the coach of Monza in Serie A, although a poor run of results cost him his job in December. Surprisingly, he was rehired just seven weeks later, in February 2025, to try to turn around the Lombard team's season. Today, Nesta continues to fight on the sidelines with the same determination that characterized him as a player, determined to establish his legacy now as a coach.
