The DW Stadium, opened in 1999, is a multifunctional stadium located in Wigan, Greater Manchester, England. With a capacity of 25,138 spectators, it has been the home of both the Wigan Athletic Football Club and the Wigan Warriors Rugby League Club since its opening.
Originally known as the JJB Stadium until 2009, the stadium was renamed DW Stadium in honor of the initials of Dave Whelan, then owner of Wigan Athletic and founder of DW Sports Fitness. In May 2024, the stadium was renamed The Brick Community Stadium after a collaboration with the local charity The Brick, which works to address poverty and homelessness in the community.
The stadium features four single-tier stands, providing excellent visibility from any point. In addition to hosting football and rugby matches, the venue offers 12 versatile meeting and event rooms, capable of accommodating from 5 to 500 guests for various functions, including conferences, seminars, and exhibitions.
During the UEFA Europa League 2013-2014 matches, the stadium was called the Wigan Athletic Stadium due to UEFA sponsorship regulations. Additionally, the attendance record was set on May 11, 2008, when 25,133 spectators attended the match between Wigan Athletic and Manchester United on the final day of the 2007-2008 Premier League season.
