In October 2024, Atlético de Madrid signed a sponsorship agreement with the Saudi airline Riyadh Air, valued at between 250 and 300 million euros over nine years. This agreement includes the sponsorship of the team's jersey and the renaming of the stadium to Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

The stadium has a capacity for over 68,000 spectators and stands out for its avant-garde design and advanced technological facilities. A notable feature is its 360-degree scoreboard, unique among Spanish football stadiums, offering an immersive visual experience for attendees.

In addition to hosting Atlético de Madrid matches, the Riyadh Air Metropolitano has been the venue for concerts by renowned international artists such as Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, The Rolling Stones, and Bruce Springsteen, establishing itself as a cultural landmark in the city.

This sponsorship agreement strengthens Atlético de Madrid's international projection and strengthens ties with the Saudi market, aligning with the club's global expansion strategy.
