The name change to Johan Cruyff Arena in 2018 was a tribute to the legendary Dutch footballer, considered one of the most influential figures in football history. His legacy continues at the stadium, where technological advancements like hybrid turf and environmental sustainability systems have been implemented, including the use of solar panels and recycled batteries from electric cars for its operation.
