The Estadio General Pablo Rojas, popularly known as "La Olla", is an emblematic sports venue located in the Obrero neighborhood of Asunción, Paraguay. Inaugurated on May 24, 1970, it has been the home of Club Cerro Porteño, one of the most prominent teams in the country. Its nickname, "La Olla", was given by the club's president at the time, General Pablo Rojas, in whose honor the stadium was named after his death.
Throughout its history, the stadium has undergone several significant renovations. Between 2015 and 2017, a comprehensive overhaul took place that included expanding its capacity to 45,000 spectators, making it the largest stadium in Paraguay. These improvements also introduced modern boxes, VIP areas, and first-class infrastructure, earning it the recognition as the "Best Stadium in the World 2017" in the renovations category, according to a public vote by StadiumDB.
In addition to being Cerro Porteño's home, "La Olla" has hosted internationally significant events. In 1999, it hosted matches of the Copa América, and more recently, it was the venue for the finals of the Copa Sudamericana in 2019 and 2024, establishing itself as a benchmark in South American football.
A notable curiosity is that, during the 2015-2017 renovation, members of the club's hooligan group worked voluntarily in the stadium's construction for 18 months, strengthening the bond between the fans and their "Nueva Olla". This commitment reflects the deep connection and passion that Cerro Porteño supporters have for their stadium and team.
