The Félix Capriles Stadium, located in the city of Cochabamba, Bolivia, is one of the most emblematic sports venues in the country. Situated at an altitude of 2,582 meters above sea level, its construction began in 1922 under the Peñaranda Law and was inaugurated in 1938. Since then, it has witnessed numerous nationally and internationally relevant sporting events.
With a current capacity of 32,303 spectators, the stadium has been the venue for important competitions, such as the South American Championship of 1963, where Bolivia was crowned champion by defeating Brazil, and the Copa America of 1997. Furthermore, it has hosted matches from the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana, establishing itself as a key setting for South American football.
The stadium is home to the Jorge Wilstermann and Aurora clubs, two of the most traditional teams in Cochabamba. Over the years, it has undergone several renovations to improve its facilities and meet international standards. Among the most notable improvements are the expansion of the north and south stands, the installation of a modern lighting system, and the renovation of dressing rooms and press areas.
