The MATRADE Loftus Road Stadium, located in Shepherd’s Bush, London, is home to the Queens Park Rangers (QPR) football club. Opened in 1904, the stadium has a capacity of 18,439 spectators. Throughout its history, it has been known by various names, including Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium between 2019 and 2022. In October 2023, a three-year sponsorship agreement with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) was announced, adopting its current name until the 2025-2026 season.
A notable feature of this stadium is that in 1981, it became the first in British professional football to install Omniturf artificial turf, which was used until 1988, when natural grass was reinstalled.
In addition to football, the stadium has hosted other sporting events, such as rugby matches of the London Wasps team between 1996 and 2002, and Fulham FC matches while their stadium, Craven Cottage, was under reconstruction between 2002 and 2004. It has also been a venue for boxing matches, highlighting Barry McGuigan's victory over Eusebio Pedroza for the World Boxing Association featherweight championship in 1985.
The stadium is well connected by public transport, with several nearby metro stations, with White City on the Central line being the closest, about a five-minute walk away. Other nearby stations include Wood Lane on the Hammersmith & City line and Shepherd’s Bush, which operates trains on the London Overground and Southern networks.
