The Municipal Stadium El Molinón-Enrique Castro "Quini", popularly known as El Molinón, stands as the oldest professional football stadium in Spain, with its origins dating back to 1908. Located in Gijón, Asturias, this emblematic venue has been the home of Real Sporting de Gijón since 1917.

Throughout its centennial history, El Molinón has witnessed sports events of great relevance. During the FIFA World Cup 1982, it hosted three group stage matches, including the memorable encounter between West Germany and Austria, known as the "Vergüenza de Gijón" (Gijón Shame). Moreover, it has been the venue for numerous national and international competitions, establishing itself as a reference in the football scene.

The stadium has undergone various renovations to meet modern requirements and enhance the fan experience. One of the most significant ones took place between 2009 and 2011, when its capacity was expanded and its facilities were modernized, always maintaining its historical essence.

El Molinón was the first stadium in Spain to have artificial lighting, allowing night matches to be held. Furthermore, in 2018, in honor of the legendary Sporting forward, the stadium added the name of Enrique Castro "Quini" to its official denomination, paying tribute to one of the club's most beloved icons.
