The Mestalla Stadium, inaugurated on May 20, 1923, is the home of Valencia Club de Fútbol and stands as the oldest stadium in the Spanish La Liga. Located in the Mestalla district, between Avenida de Suecia and Avenida de Aragón, it owes its name to the historic Mestalla irrigation channel, which fans had to cross to access the venue in its early days.

Throughout its history, Mestalla has undergone numerous renovations. Originally, it had a capacity for 17,000 spectators, but after various expansions and improvements, it can currently accommodate 49,430 fans. The stadium is known for the steep incline of its north stand, which contributes to creating an imposing atmosphere for visiting teams.

Mestalla has been the scene of significant football events. During the 1982 FIFA World Cup, it was one of the selected venues, and during the 1992 Olympics, it hosted football matches, including the final in which Spain won the gold medal. In addition, it has hosted numerous Copa del Rey finals and international matches of the Spanish national team.

A notable curiosity is that, from 1969 to 1994, the stadium was renamed Luis Casanova Stadium in honor of the club's president at the time. However, at Casanova's own request, its original name, Mestalla, was restored in 1994.

Currently, Valencia CF is working on the construction of the Nou Mestalla, a new stadium that will replace the current one. The construction, which began in 2007, has faced multiple delays due to financial problems, but has recently resumed with the goal of the team moving to its new home for the 2027-2028 season.

For fans and visitors, the Mestalla Forever Tour offers the opportunity to explore the heart of the stadium, including dressing rooms, press room, and the VIP box, providing a complete view of the rich history and tradition of Valencia CF.
