Jérôme Brisard

Jérôme Brisard, born in Paris on March 24, 1986, always felt a deep connection with football. Despite his humble beginnings in the lower leagues, his passion for the game led him to quickly climb positions within French refereeing. In 2015, after years of training in Ligue 2, his name began to resonate in the professional refereeing scene. It wasn't until 2017, when he was given the opportunity to debut in Ligue 1, the pinnacle of French football, in a match between Montpellier and Dijon. Since then, Brisard not only established himself in the top division, but soon was recognized for his ability to handle the most demanding matches with composure.

His ability to stay calm in tense situations, combined with his dialogical approach with players, made him stand out in an environment where quick decisions can be critical. Throughout his career, his style has been characterized by a combination of quiet authority and a constant willingness to converse with players. This has allowed him to manage highly tense matches, from traditional French derbies to international clashes. In 2020, his presence in the Coupe de la Ligue final between PSG and Lyon was a test. Despite the magnitude of the event, with the pressure of leading a final full of history and rivalry, Brisard demonstrated that his ability to manage the game without resorting to excessive sanctions was one of his strongest points.

Internationally, Brisard began to shine as well. As a FIFA referee since 2018, his participation in European competitions did not go unnoticed.
