Sascha Stegemann

Sascha Stegemann, born on December 6, 1984 in Niederkassel, Germany, is a 40-year-old German football referee. He began his career in 2011 and made his Bundesliga debut in 2014. Since 2019, he has been an international FIFA referee. 

His refereeing style is characterized by a strict enforcement of the rules, which has sometimes led to controversies. In April 2023, during a match between Borussia Dortmund and VfL Bochum, a controversial decision of his influenced the result, resulting in threats against him and his family, requiring police protection for four weeks.
