Ewood Park, located in Blackburn, Lancashire, is the home stadium of Blackburn Rovers Football Club since 1890. Inaugurated in 1882, it has witnessed the evolution of English football and historic moments of the club.
With a capacity for 31,367 spectators, Ewood Park consists of four main sections: the Bryan Douglas Darwen End, the Ronnie Clayton Blackburn End, the Riverside Stand, and the Jack Walker Stand, the latter named in honor of the industrialist and club supporter, Jack Walker. The playing field measures 105 x 68 meters, meeting international standards.
Over the years, the stadium has been renovated several times to enhance the fan experience and comply with safety regulations. One of the most significant transformations occurred in the 1990s, when three out of the four stands were reconstructed, providing the stadium with modern facilities and increasing its capacity.
In addition to hosting Blackburn Rovers matches, Ewood Park has been the setting for notable events, such as international matches of the English national team, FA Cup semifinals, and rugby games. A remarkable curiosity is that, in 1929, the stadium set its historical attendance record, with 61,783 spectators in a match against Bolton Wanderers.
