Estadio Centenario

The Centenario de Armenia Stadium, known as “The Garden of America”, is the main sports venue in the city of Armenia, in the department of Quindío, Colombia. Inaugurated on March 30, 1988, this stadium was built to commemorate the centenary of the city, hence its name. Since then, it has been the home of the Deportes Quindío club, a team that competes in the First B Category of Colombian football.

With a current capacity of approximately 20,716 spectators, the stadium has a 110 x 90 meter field with natural grass surface. Over the years, it has hosted important international sports events such as the 2001 Copa America, the 2005 South American U-20 Championship and the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup, for which significant renovations were made including the modernization of stands and dressing rooms. 

A distinctive feature of the Centenario Stadium is its natural environment and the beauty of its gardens, earning it the nickname “The Garden of America.” In addition to its use for professional football, the stadium has hosted various cultural and sports activities, becoming an emblematic space for the Quindío community.

In its history, the stadium has seen great figures of world football pass through, such as Ronaldo Nazário, Lionel Messi, and Radamel Falcao, who have played matches on its field during international youth tournaments. Its importance in sports and culture makes it a symbol of pride for the residents of Armenia and Quindío.
