Dámaso Arcediano Monescillo, born on September 20, 1984 in Puertollano, Ciudad Real, is a Spanish referee who has developed much of his career in the Segunda División. Since his debut in the category in 2011, he has refereed numerous matches, establishing himself as a reference in silver refereeing.
Throughout his career, Arcediano Monescillo has been recognized for his consistency and good judgment on the field. Evidence of this is the Guruceta Trophy, awarded by the newspaper Marca to the best Segunda División referee, in two consecutive seasons. However, despite these recognitions, the long-awaited promotion to Primera División has eluded him, generating some surprise in the football environment.
A noteworthy episode in his career occurred in November 2020, when he was appointed to referee a match between Real Oviedo and Fuenlabrada. Initially, a positive result for COVID-19 was reported, leading to his replacement. Later, it was confirmed that the result was negative, but caution prevailed on that occasion.
Despite not having debuted in Primera División, Arcediano Monescillo remains a relevant figure in Spanish refereeing, with a trajectory that reflects dedication and professionalism in every match he referees.
