Darío Humberto Herrera. Born on February 24, 1985 in Andacollo, Neuquén, Herrera has traveled a remarkable path in national and international refereeing.
His debut in the First Division took place in 2013, when he officiated the match between Colón and Vélez Sarsfield, which ended with a 2-1 victory for the team from Santa Fe. Since then, he has been a constant presence in Argentina's most emblematic stadiums. In 2015, he was appointed a FIFA referee, allowing him to expand his horizons to international competitions.
One of the highlights of his career occurred in May 2015, when he was selected to referee the Superclásico between Boca Juniors and River Plate in the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. This match, played at La Bombonera, was suspended at halftime due to an incident involving the River players, testing Herrera's ability to handle high-tension situations.
Recently, in February 2025, he was assigned to officiate the match between Sarmiento and San Martín de San Juan, corresponding to the fourth round of the Apertura Tournament. This appointment underscores the confidence that Argentine football authorities have in his experience and professionalism.
