The Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, formerly known as Stadio San Paolo, is the stadium of Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli, located in the Fuorigrotta district, in Naples, Italy. Inaugurated in 1959, it is the fourth largest football stadium in Italy, with a capacity of 54,726 spectators

Originally called Stadio San Paolo, in honor of the apostle Saint Paul, the stadium was renamed in December 2020 as Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, in tribute to the legendary Argentine footballer who led Napoli to its greatest successes in the 1980s and 1990s.

Throughout its history, the stadium has hosted prominent events, including matches of the FIFA World Cup 1990, where it hosted the semifinal between Italy and Argentina. In addition to Napoli matches, the stadium has hosted concerts by renowned international artists, establishing itself as an important cultural and sports center in the region.

In 2019, the stadium underwent significant renovation in preparation for the Summer Universiade, improving its facilities and modernizing its infrastructure. These enhancements included the installation of new seats, a renovated athletics track, and improvements in lighting and sound system, enhancing the spectator experience and adapting the stadium to contemporary standards.

The Stadio Diego Armando Maradona is not only a symbol of Naples' football legacy, but also a testimony to the lasting impact of Maradona on the city and the world of football.
