Sardegna Arena, currently known as Unipol Domus for sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium located in Cagliari, on the island of Sardinia, Italy. Inaugurated on September 10, 2017, this venue was built as a temporary solution after the closure and partial demolition of the old Stadio Sant’Elia, with the aim of hosting Cagliari Calcio matches while a new permanent stadium is developed on the same site.
With a capacity for 16,416 spectators, Unipol Domus stands out as an example of modular and efficient construction. The project, with a budget of approximately 8 million euros, was completed in less than four months, using tubular and modular structures that allow for dismantling once the new stadium is ready.
Located about 3 kilometers from the center of Cagliari, Unipol Domus is situated between the salt flats of Quartu and the waters of the Cerdeña Canal, near emblematic places such as the Molentargius pond and the Poetto promenade. This location offers fans not only the opportunity to enjoy football, but also the characteristic landscapes of the region.
