The SchücoArena, traditionally known as Bielefelder Alm, is the football stadium located in Bielefeld, Germany, serving as the home of DSC Arminia Bielefeld since its inauguration in 1926. The name 'Alm' originated due to the appearance of the terrain in its early days, resembling a mountain meadow. Since 2004, the stadium has been named SchücoArena thanks to a sponsorship agreement with the local company Schüco International KG, specializing in window and facade systems.
Over the years, the SchücoArena has undergone several renovations and expansions. Between 1996 and 1999, the north, south, and west stands were rebuilt, while between 2006 and 2008, the east stand renovation took place. Currently, the stadium has a capacity of 27,332 spectators, with 19,392 seats and 7,940 standing places, making it the largest football venue in the Ostwestfalen-Lippe region. A notable feature is the installation of an innovative glass roof on the east stand, integrating solar cells to generate sustainable energy.
In addition to Arminia Bielefeld matches, the SchücoArena has hosted various significant football events. In 2006, it hosted matches of the World Cup for People with Intellectual Disabilities, and in 2010, it was a venue for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, including the final where Germany became champions by defeating Nigeria. The stadium has also been the venue for concerts by renowned artists, such as Herbert Grönemeyer in 2008 and the local rapper Casper in 2024, the latter attracting more than 26,000 spectators.
