The Stadion Galgenwaard is a football stadium located in Utrecht, Netherlands, and has been the home of FC Utrecht since 1970. Inaugurated on May 21, 1936, it has undergone several significant renovations, with the most recent one in the early 21st century, allowing it to maintain a capacity of 23,750 spectators

This stadium is renowned for its innovative design, which includes a moat around the field instead of traditional perimeter fences, a feature that influenced future UEFA and FIFA regulations. It also houses various facilities such as shops, offices, and the home of the FC Utrecht supporters' association, one of the largest in Europe.

Throughout its history, the Stadion Galgenwaard has hosted highly significant sporting events, including international matches of the Dutch national team, the finals of the Hockey World Cup in 1998, and the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2005. During the UEFA Women's Euro 2017, the stadium hosted four group stage matches.

The name "Galgenwaard" dates back to the 17th century when the area was used for public executions, hence the Dutch word "galgenveld", which means "gallows field". This historical name has endured over the years, even after multiple renovations that have transformed the stadium into a modern and iconic facility in Dutch football.
