The Champions of 36 Stadium, located in the city of Sullana, in the department of Piura, Peru, is a sports venue with a rich history and a special meaning for the local community. Its name commemorates the achievement of the Sullana football team, which won the national championship in 1936, a milestone that left an indelible mark on the sports memory of the region.

Inaugurated in 1938, the stadium has witnessed countless sports events, serving as the main venue for Alianza Atlético de Sullana, a team that has competed in the Liga 1 of Peruvian football. Over the years, the venue has undergone various renovations to improve its facilities and increase its capacity. In 2018, the north stand was opened, raising the seating capacity to approximately 12,000 spectators. However, due to its limited capacity, at times Alianza Atlético has moved its matches to the Miguel Grau Stadium in Piura.

In January 2025, an ambitious stadium modernization project was announced. This plan includes the construction of three new covered stands and the demolition of the west and east structures due to their age. With these improvements, it is expected that the stadium will be able to accommodate up to 28,000 spectators, meeting national and international standards for hosting large-scale sports events.

Beyond its role as a sports venue, the Champions of 36 Stadium has been a meeting point for the Sullana community, hosting cultural and social events that reinforce its role as a symbol of local identity. The combination of its historical legacy and modernization plans ensure that this iconic venue will continue to be a fundamental pillar in the sports and cultural development of the region.
