The Stayen Stadium, formerly known as Staaienveld, is the stadium of Sint-Truidense Voetbalvereniging (STVV), located in the city of Sint-Truiden, in the province of Limburg, Belgium. Inaugurated in 1927, the name “Stayen” comes from the local dialect for “Staden,” an old neighborhood on the western side of the city.
Throughout its history, the stadium has undergone several significant renovations. During World War II, on August 24, 1944, it was completely destroyed by an air raid and later rebuilt in 1948. More recently, between 2009 and 2014, renovations were carried out that modernized its facilities and expanded its capacity to 14,600 spectators.
A prominent feature of Stayen is its multifunctional approach. The stadium houses a hotel integrated into the north stand, where 20 rooms offer direct views of the playing field, allowing guests to enjoy the matches from the comfort of their rooms.
In addition to hosting STVV matches, Stayen is used for a variety of events, including concerts and conferences, establishing itself as a hub for the local community and a symbol of the sporting heritage of Sint-Truiden.
