The Julio César Villagra Stadium, popularly known as El Gigante de Alberdi, is the home of Club Atlético Belgrano, located in the Alberdi neighborhood of Córdoba, Argentina. Inaugurated on March 17, 1929, the stadium has witnessed numerous historic moments of Córdoba soccer.
Originally, the stadium had a capacity for 10,000 spectators. Over the years, it has undergone several renovations and expansions, one of the most significant being the one carried out in 2017, which increased its capacity to 30,000 spectators. Currently, the stadium has a capacity for 38,000 spectators.
The stadium is named after Julio César Villagra, one of Belgrano's most emblematic idols, who played for the club from 1982 until his death in 1993. His legacy and contribution to the team were honored by naming the stadium after him.
In addition to hosting Belgrano's matches, the Gigante de Alberdi has hosted various sports and cultural events, establishing itself as an icon in the city of Córdoba and a meeting point for soccer fans and the community at large.
