The Bosuilstadion, popularly known as “Den Bosuil” or “the Deurne Inferno”, is the stadium of Royal Antwerp FC, the oldest club in Belgium (registration number 1). Located in the Deurne district of Antwerp, it was inaugurated on November 1, 1923, with a friendly match between Belgium and England that ended 2-2. Since then, it has been the uninterrupted home of the team and a symbol of Flemish football.

The stadium has witnessed historic events, such as the replay of the 1964 European Cup Winners' Cup final, where Sporting Lisbon defeated MTK Budapest, and the 1972 Euro Cup semifinal, where West Germany defeated Belgium in front of nearly 60,000 spectators. For decades, it was a regular venue for Belgium national team matches, especially against the Netherlands, earning its nickname for the intense and passionate atmosphere in its stands.

Over the years, the stadium has undergone several renovations. Between 2017 and 2021, major modernization works were carried out, including the construction of a new main stand with a capacity for 5,362 spectators, offices, dressing rooms, and VIP areas. Additionally, a south stand with two levels and a total capacity of 7,500 people was built, designed for the most fervent fans. These improvements have increased the stadium's total capacity to 16,144 seats, although there are plans to expand it to 23,000 in the future.

Despite the modernizations, the Bosuilstadion has maintained its unique character and intimidating atmosphere. Stand 2, known as “Maes Tribune”, still retains its original 1923 structure, with wooden benches that evoke the club's rich history. This balance between tradition and modernity makes the Bosuilstadion a landmark in the European football scene.
