The José Amalfitani Stadium, popularly known as "El Fortín", is the home of Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield, located in the neighborhood of Liniers, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Its official inauguration took place on April 22, 1951, although its construction began in 1939 and was partially opened in 1943. The stadium is named after José Amalfitani, an emblematic president of the club for 30 years.
With a capacity for 49,540 spectators, the stadium stands out for its dimensions of 105 meters in length by 70 meters in width. Throughout its history, it has undergone several renovations, especially in preparation for the 1978 FIFA World Cup, when significant improvements were made to its infrastructure.
