Carlos André Fernandes Macedo

Carlos André Fernandes Macedo, born on October 25, 1986 in Barcelos, Portugal, is a Portuguese football referee affiliated with the Braga Football Association. At 38 years old, he has had a remarkable career in national refereeing. 

He made his debut in the Primeira Liga on August 26, 2022, and since then, he has officiated numerous matches in the top tier of Portuguese football. During the 2024/2025 season, he refereed key matches, such as the match between Rio Ave and Farense on August 17, 2024, which ended in a 1-0 victory for Rio Ave. 

Throughout his career, Macedo has demonstrated a strict application of the rules, maintaining discipline on the field. In the 2023/2024 season, for example, he showed an average of 5.2 yellow cards per match and issued 6 red cards in 19 matches, reflecting his commitment to fair play. 

In addition to his work in the Primeira Liga, he has been involved in competitions such as the Taça de Portugal and the Liga Portugal 2, expanding his experience across different levels of Portuguese football.
