Stadium Information

The Estádio do Bessa Século XXI is a football stadium located in the city of Porto, Portugal, and is the official home of Boavista Futebol Clube. With a capacity of 28,263 spectators, it stands as the tenth largest stadium in the country. Its design stands out for the proximity of the stands to the field, offering a close and immersive experience for fans. 

Originally opened in 1911 as "Campo do Bessa", the stadium has undergone several renovations throughout its history. The most significant one took place between 1999 and 2003, when it was completely rebuilt to be one of the venues for the 2004 European Championship. During this tournament, it hosted three matches of the group stage, including the thrilling 2-2 draw between Denmark and Sweden on June 22, 2004. 

Its architecture resembles traditional English stadiums, with steep stands that bring the audience close to the playing field. Additionally, the stadium has a museum dedicated to the history of Boavista FC, where trophies and mementos from the various sports disciplines in which the club has made its mark are displayed. 

The stadium is strategically located next to the Avenida da Boavista, one of the main arteries of Porto, which facilitates access and offers various transportation and parking options for attendees. Its location and modern facilities make it a key reference point for both sporting and cultural events in the city.
