Silvio Aníbal Trucco, born on April 18, 1978 in Rafaela, Santa Fe, is an Argentine referee with a remarkable career in national soccer. He made his debut in the Argentine Primera División in 2011, refereeing the match between Newell's Old Boys and Godoy Cruz, which ended in a 3-1 victory for the Mendoza team.
Coming from a family with a strong refereeing tradition, Silvio is the son of Luis Trucco, a former referee and FIFA international assistant. His siblings, Gisela and Ángelo, are also dedicated to refereeing, with Gisela being the first woman to work as an assistant in an Argentine Primera División match in 2017.
Between 2013 and 2019, Trucco was an international referee, representing Argentina in various competitions. In addition to his work on the field, he has served as a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in important matches, including Superclásicos between River Plate and Boca Juniors.
Throughout his career, he has been involved in controversial situations. One of the most remembered occurred in 2014, during a Superclásico in the Copa Sudamericana, where his performance was criticized due to the number of fouls and cautions.
