The BayArena, located in Leverkusen, North Rhine-Westphalia, is the iconic home of Bayer 04 Leverkusen since its opening in 1958. Originally known as Ulrich-Haberland-Stadion, in honor of the then president of Bayer AG, the stadium has witnessed a constant evolution reflecting the ambition and growth of the club.
Initially, the stadium had a capacity for 4,000 spectators. However, with the team's promotion to the Bundesliga in 1979, significant extensions were carried out to accommodate a growing fan base. These renovations culminated in 1997, transforming the venue into a modern stadium with a capacity for 22,500 people. A year later, it was renamed BayArena, consolidating its identity in the German football scene.
The latest major renovation, completed in 2009, increased its capacity to 30,210 spectators and added cutting-edge facilities, including an integrated hotel and VIP areas, offering a unique experience for fans. Additionally, the BayArena was one of the venues for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, hosting several matches of the competition.
