The Monumental Antonio Vespucio Liberti Stadium, popularly known as El Monumental, is the largest stadium in Argentina and one of the most emblematic in South America. Located in the Belgrano neighborhood, in Buenos Aires, it is the home of Club Atlético River Plate and has witnessed countless historic moments of Argentine football.

Inaugurated on May 26, 1938, the stadium was a project driven by the then president of River Plate, Antonio Vespucio Liberti, whose name it has carried in his honor since 1986. With a current capacity of 84,567 spectators, it has been the venue for highly relevant events, including the final of the 1978 FIFA World Cup, where Argentina was crowned champion by defeating the Netherlands.

El Monumental is not only the home of River Plate, but also a frequent venue for matches of the Argentine national team. In addition to football matches, the stadium has hosted concerts by renowned international artists, establishing itself as a cultural hub in Buenos Aires.

Despite its inauguration in 1938, the stadium has undergone several renovations and expansions over the years to maintain its status as one of the most modern and functional sports venues in the region. Its oval design and imposing structure make it an architectural and sporting icon of Argentina.
