Nou Estadi Castalia

Address Calle de Huesca Capacity 15.500
City Castellón de la Plana Surface grass

The Nou Estadi Castalia, officially known as Estadio Skyfi Castalia, is the home of Club Deportivo Castellón, located in Castellón de la Plana, Spain. Inaugurated on June 17, 1987, this stadium replaced the old Estadio Castalia, which dated back to 1944. Designed by architect Joaquín Tirado, the new venue was built in a record time of 10 months, with an initial budget of 350 million pesetas, although it eventually rose to 500 million due to additional improvements.

The stadium has a capacity for 15,500 spectators, all seated, and its dimensions are 102 x 70 meters, making it one of the widest playing fields in Spanish football. Throughout its history, it has undergone several remodeling: in 1988, the capacity was increased to 17,000 spectators by converting some sections with seats into grandstands; in 1996, the conversion back to seating reduced the capacity to 12,500; and in 2005, a redevelopment increased the capacity to 16,000 and improved facilities for players and media.

Among the most notable events hosted are international matches of the Spanish U21 National Team and matches of the Valencian Regional Team. In addition, the stadium has witnessed memorable moments for CD Castellón, such as the promotion to La Liga on June 25, 1989, after a resounding 6-0 victory against Castilla, and the victory over FC Barcelona on February 4, 1990, thanks to a penalty goal by Víctor Salvador.

A notable curiosity is the Torre Maratón, an emblematic structure that has witnessed the history of the albinegra since 1945. Although originally part of the old stadium complex, it is now separated from the new venue, but it remains a symbol for the fans.
