The El Alcoraz Stadium, opened on January 16, 1972, is the home of Sociedad Deportiva Huesca, located in Huesca, Aragon. Its name pays tribute to the Battle of Alcoraz of 1096, which allowed Huesca to be annexed to the Kingdom of Aragon.
Originally, the stadium had a lower capacity, but after several renovations, especially in 2010 and 2018, it reached its current capacity of 9,100 spectators. These improvements included the expansion of stands, modernization of facilities, and the construction of new VIP and press areas, adapting to the demands of high-level competitions.
El Alcoraz has been the scene of memorable moments, such as the Copa del Rey match against Real Betis on January 5, 2025, which recorded a record attendance of 7,968 spectators, reflecting the growing support of the local fans.
In addition to SD Huesca matches, the stadium has hosted significant events, such as the match of the Spanish U21 National Team against Greece in 2003, where Spain won 2-0. El Alcoraz is not only a sports symbol, but also a cultural and historical reference for the city of Huesca.
